Some of this revenue goes towards the significant subsidies that finance his vast london bus fleet. So let me make a modest proposal. Let all the advertising space on the side of London buses to the militant atheist Professor Richard Dawkins. Professor Dawkins would display his standard message "There is probably no God. Now go and enjoy your life". Even at a high rate for the advertising space, Professor Dawkins would find it much cheaper than buying his own buses. Besides raising revenue, this would have the advantage of focussing terrorist attacks by Jesus freaks and Mohammed freaks on the bus fleet. Knowing where the attacks are likely to occur would make policing and counter terrorism much easier. I understand that Boris can not abolish the Congestion Charge because he needs the revenue. LA does too but it only services a small part of city center and doesn't reach most of the business districts. So there's no real choice other than to drive and if you've ever been on the 405 at 6pm on a Friday evening you're basically idling on a very long parking lot.
