If Boris Johnson promises to do his best on something, I believe him, because you only have to look at the way he ran his election campaign to see that his word can be taken seriously. Every claim he made and every accusation of Ken's failed promises was backed up with certifiable statistics, he and his administration have said they intend to be accountable and the buck will stop with them. They have absolutely no intention of blaming Mrs. Thatcher, Lady Shirley Porter and the other ridiculous scapegoats that Ken used, but he used the Hillary Clinton school of reporting anyway, there was no comparison with what he claimed he had achieved and what actually happened. Talk about "Lies, damn lies and statistics!" (Mark Twain!) Should have been written by Ken. Still, RIP Ken Livingstone, a brilliant media career beckons, and you should take it, hon, you are only hurting yourself hanging round City Hall.
