I’m completely with Boris on this, Heathrow does’nt need a third runway at all it’s enough of a planning mess as it is
and this is going to make the noise problem worse. I’m tired of people like Jim Fitzpatrick the Government minister giving dissatisfactory answers to surveys like ANASE saying it won’t increase noise contours, he knows it will and so does the Dft as well, are we being told the whole truth.
I live in Hampton and when the aircraft are on easterlies they fly over the house here, they are low, very frequent and most very noisy, I see none or very little difference in in improvement in aircraft noise, the goverment and BAA seems to spout about. The problem is in Heathrow itself,
it is A PROBLEM.

Boris, you remember how a few weeks ago I rebuked you for not calling in for tea when you were passing, well, in the light of recent news stories, the invitation still stands, but there will be a full body search as part of our new security procedures when you leave. I’m very disappointed with Boris’ comment on the proposed 3rd runway at Heathrow. London needs to be modernised….and this includes Heathrow, which is one of the worst air terminals in the world. Its all very well spouting about climate change. Yes, it is happening, has done so before, and we can’t stop it. Yes, we can try to minimise its progress, but restricting peoples’ ability to travel will not solve the problem; and while we are at it, neither will building obscene wind farms which are a blight on the land/sea scape. Technology will eventually win the fight given the political will. So Boris, let’s hear what you will do for technology and te encouragment of home grown engineers.

they can blather on about levels of noise but to us here in twickers, noise from airplanes is noise, no matter how quiet (what???)and to double the planes, means, doubling the noise, or is my maths wrong. What concerns me also is the incredible pollution from the doubling of cars and taxis going to the airport (nobody I know uses public transport if they are trying to catch a plane)- what a mess. Can you sort it Boris?
