Those who regularly look in might recognise the quote chosen from one of our regulars ..."How about love and peace as a political standpoint... No, bugger it, that would be silly. Let's just focus on keeping the Croats out" - one of our distinguished and unique contributors. Thanks to all for keeping us going. We look forward to hearing more from you. A recent post reads: "Clear choice at the next election: unlimited and uncontrolled immigration under Mr Blair, limited and controlled immigration with the Conservatives. Any views on election strategies would be welcomed." And readers have provided their own taunting strategies: "How about love and peace as a political standpoint... 1. Yay, and congratulations etc. to both Boris and Melissa. Is this the top political blog in Britain now? My impression is that you have the most comments/commenters/traffic etc.

  2. Some would say that the article in the Independent should be headed “Incisive comments by the urbane, witty and handsome Vicus Scurra help to raise profile of obscure back bencher”. You may say that, Melissa, but I could not possibly comment.

  3. Boris judged by the Independent as a Top 12 blogger

Independent – My life as a blog: 12 of the best sites: Yes, this really is the blog of the tousle-haired Conservative MP. It’s a bit bumbling on the surface, but that disguises an honesty, keen organisation and depth that…

  4. Congratulations to Boris, Melissa, Wibbler (for a fine build) and everyone else who contributes to the blog via links and comments (including Vicus Scurra, of course).

  5. Yay, Boris saves politics, Boris blogs brilliantly all the while Boris’ barnet bustles with blondness and brains. Somebody help me please!

  6. Feeling = humbled

Feel awed that beginners at this game should have been highlighted.

Bloggers of the World Unite !!!

  7. General George S. Patton misquoted – A blog of sweat, saves a gallon of blood …

One day soon there will be a push for a global “Blog Day.” May Boris be the giver of the direction…

!!!Congratulations!!! Behind every successful blogger is Melissa (smile)

  8. Well done to both Boris and Melissa we knew you had it in you all the time. And comming for the Indie as well. Keep up the good work. And yes Bloggers of the World are uniteing: There’s a song by the Smith’s in there somewhere!

  9. Off topic, IDS is going to be on the James Whale show tonight (Talk Sport, after 10pm news). The witty right wing ‘shock jock’ is sure to throw the quiet man a few curve balls. Well worth a listen.

  10. Too right Vicus – no way could I comment, not after my reaction to your radical views. However, you have left me standing and I sure saw a different side of you when your “love and peace” angle was exposed.

Keep going Vicus – you R ace

  11. Congratulations on the award.
Certainly the best political blog. I was going to collect all the political blogs together and put them on a webpage, but Boris’ blog was the only one with a useable XML feed, so there didn’t seem much point.
However watch out. Given Boris’ past behaviour, it’s only a matter of time until he makes it subscription only and starts charging for it (yes that’s the online Spectator we’re talking about).

  12. Boris: surely the last remaining true national treasure not yet completely explored and catalogued.
    Good chemistry: Good reaction .
    Catalyst: Melissa………………=sweet
    Inhibitor: sections of the press…=sour
A perfectly balanced menu for a multi layered blog
